14 Church Members of First Christian Church go on a Mission Trip to Slidell, Louisiana to Rebuild After Hurricanes

Ten men and four women departed from Decatur on Sunday, September 21, 2008 to help rebuild homes in Slidell, LA. This is the third mission trip to the Gulf Coast in three years. The first year they went to Moss Point, Mississippi and the second year to Gulfport, Mississippi.

A New Door

Because of the hard work and commitment of folks at First Christian Church in Decatur, the Regional Office has a brand new door. Led by Johnny Lee and Jay Norton and fundraiser Barbara Powell, the door and framework which had been attacked by termites 4 years ago has been replaced. We now have a secure and beautiful new door. While at the office, the workers also built shelving in our storage room so that it is organized and neat. Replacement of the roof at Lavery Hall at Camp Christian Conference Center was the other beneficiary of their efforts.

And a new Roof!

This roof on Lavery Hall at Camp Christian may look pretty plain and uninspiring until it rains and the new roof keeps the water out of Lavery Hall. That is thanks to the work of First Christian Church in Decatur and their work and fund raising.  (Click on the image to see a larger version.)
