1. PLEASE MAKE A BANNER REPRESENTING YOUR HOME CHURCH TO DECORATE STRICKLAND!
   We would like to invite each congregation to bring a banner that they prepared on our theme faithbook! Take time in your youth group or Sunday school class to talk about the above listed ways we connect to God and our world. Be creative! Have Fun! Please limit your Banner Size to no larger than 4’ x 8’. If you have yours done ahead of time, please send it with your YAC representative who will be coming to Epworth on Thursday night for the pre-retreat set up. We will have the chance to hang these banners before your arrival. Otherwise just bring your banner to Strickland during the Welcome Blast on Friday night and we will hang it up for you.
2. FREE TIME ON SATURDAY AT YOUTH-A-PALOOZA
   This year we will have free time from noon to 2:45 pm. YAC will be planning some outdoor games weather permitting. We are planning to hold an Ultimate Frisbee tournament. Your group will be able to sign up at Youth-A-Palooza. As always the focus of this time will be for island sight seeing. Lunch will be provided at Epworth, but many groups like to go out to eat. If you plan to stay on campus, you may also want to bring other recreation equipment with you. Epworth will have their outdoor gym available for our use during free time. Bring a basketball or other ball if your group would like to play on campus during free time.
3. WORSHIP OFFERINGS WILL BE EARMARKED FOR YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THIS SUMMER
   Please encourage all participants to consider attending the General Assembly this summer in Indianapolis. The General Youth Council is planning for 2009 youth to attend the July 31-August 2 gathering of Disciples (more information is available on the web and will be coming to you in camp registration packets in February). We will want Youth from Georgia to be there. Our worship offering will make sure that the voice of our youth leaders is heard this summer. Your gifts will enable ministry to the community around Indianapolis as youth work in mission during the event.
4. DISCIPLE COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY COLLEGE FAIR
   6:30-7:30 pm Saturday night the representatives from Disciple Colleges in attendance will be available for discussions with students who want to learn about the schools and possible financial aid available to Disciples.

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS FOR THOSE COORDINATING GROUPS ATTENDING

1. Please note the deadlines for registration. Your early registration allows us to recruit adults in December as small group leaders. We will contact adults by email and ask them to work as small group leaders. They will also receive a copy of the curriculum via email in December or right after the Christmas Holiday.
2. Remember that your YAC representatives and YAC adults who are serving this year 2008-2009 will only be paying half price for this year’s Youth-A-Palooza.
3. Registration times. Please plan to arrive at Epworth by the Sea no sooner than 5:30 pm and no later than 7:30 pm.
4. Registration Forms. Please make as many copies of the enclosed originals as needed to distribute among your youth and adult sponsors.
5. Every church is invited to select a YAC Member. Please read the Memorandum contained in this packet for information on selecting a member of your church to serve on YAC in 2009-2010.
